In this second part of Hookd2Stay, a hookheart who was once married before shares her deepest hurt, pain, sadness, betrayal etc by her ex husband as a foreign student abroad.
This is a true story( real life) but names will be changed for privacy and security purposes. Lady will be called Tola, while ex husband will be called Segun.
So Tola reached out to me with her story on Hookd2stay. The next couple of hours were sad and highly emotional for me.
To summarise the whole story, Tola met Segun when she travelled to the UK for masters. She had prayed that she would settle down in the UK maritally, as she had no interests returning back to Nigeria due to its high political instability, limited jobs etc.
She was introduced to Segun by her friend Funke and they hit it off instantly. He was all mushy mushy , loving , sweet, occasionally showed signs of abuse but was never physical with Tola. Tola imagined his tendencies towards abuse such as extreme anger,threats to slap etc were one of the many brawls couples had and dismissed it.
LESSON 1- DO NOT DISMISS SIGNS AND THREATS OF ABUSE
Overtime, they both got married and the next couple of years were hell as she described in her chats.
Find her explicit story below. He maltreated her all through her pregnancy with their first child because he felt she had no papers and no one to run too. He refused taking her to hospital while she was in labour , did not show up after the birth of the baby till after 48
hours etc.
